Locks of Love

Hey, I donated my hair! It was so long and unmaneageable that I knew I wanted to cut it. About 8 months ago my grandpa was diagnosed with cancer and so I grew it out until the shortest layers were 10 inches long. I wanted to donate it so I could do something for kids with cancer and to show support for my grandpa. My grandpa is now cancer free and my hair is in a cute bob, (anyone who knows me is saying, "duh, Becky and hairbob go together". It was down to my waist and now it is at my chin and so much more comfortable and stylish!

Emma's Ballet Recital

Emma had a great ballet recital! She was in 2 dances and was great in both. Ballet has been so good for her. It was so hard to watch her struggle with her asthma for so long and now she is doing so much better. The dancing has given her stamina and increased lung capacity. SHe is doing so much better that she doesn't have to take steroids anymore. She was very graceful and had a great time playing with the other girls backstage!

Big Wheel Action!

Yes! Bigwheels are as sweet as I remembered! Emma had a great time on this toy classic. I was so jealous! Rachael had a great time on the stilts watching her sister peal out!

Ode to Bigwheels!

Oh my gosh! I just bought a bigwheel! I am having serious flashbacks here folks! All of a sudden I am taken back to the late 70'/ early 80's. I feel the asphalt under my tires as I race down the block with the other kids on bigwheels! Now the pandora's box of childhood has opened. I can see the disco balls and crazy guy disco skating in a white suit at the roller rink, I can hear diana ross in the bathroom while I watch my aunt feather her hair as she gets ready for a church dance, I can feel the cool water as I swim in the neighbors pool with Cheap Trick blasting from the 8 track player. Good times. I can't wait to see my kids riding the big wheel through the neighborhood. I wish I still could! I had to add a soundtrack to my flashback, enjoy.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Happy D-day Bobby-boo! You are the world's greatest dad! I couldn't be the world's greatest mom and our girls's couldn't be the world's greatest kid's without you! I always wanted to grow up and work hard to be worthy of a man like you. You always studied hard, worked hard, served a mission, studied harder and worked harder in college with an eye to your future family. As far as we are concerned you've been the world's greatest dad for longer than we have known you! You have far exceeded my girlish fanatsy's of the perfect husband and father.

You are always available with open arms and open ears to your daughters. You are the best silly story teller, pro-toddler wrestler, item fixer, prayer leader, kid praiser, crazy hugger, and kid cheerer upper there is! Love, Emma and Rachael xoxoxoxoxox
Our successes are yours daddy stud-bud! Thanks for bringing home the bacon so I can be at home to fry it up in the pan! Love, wifey xxxxxxxxx

Summer Music

Summer music time. Here's a few favorites of mine. Yep, even the pina colada song (virgin pina coladas folks lol)

Trip to Moonstone Beach

It was a gorgeous day here on the north coast and we wanted to take advantage! Since the beach is as close as the park, it was an easy choice!

feet cuddles!

Emma got in the water and stayed in the water for a couple of hours. Rachael flirted with the water and then decided to go fill up buckets of sand and climb the rocks instead.

Emma is so happy!

I don't know how Rachael can stand to be on this rock because the sand was so hot our feet were burning! Here she's on the last of her decent. What a monkey!

Last Day of School!

Wow! We made it through another year! Emma did great! She had a great year with a great class! She got a perfect report card and a certificate that says "excels in all area's"! Good going Emma! She really is a good student with a natural love of learning. She was sad to say goodbye to her best friend Alayna, but we took lots of pictures and exchanged phone numbers. What a great kid!

Life is Good!

I am so happy! It's Emma's last week of school! A whole summer without homework nagging, getting up in the morning nagging, going to bed nagging, etc. Just fun with my girls. Emma has done very well in school this year. She has also learned 2 new pieces on her violin this year and started ballet. Way to go Emma! Your dad and I are so proud of you and all of your hard work!

Our washing machine is dead. We have been working on it and are now ready to throw money at the problem. Bob is an extremely handy guy, he is just extremely busy. Poor guy! He was working to ressurect the dumb machine for 3 weeks and we finally discovered the problem. It is half the cost of replacing the dumb thing! It has been moved 4 times and has never worked very well. So, I just ordered another one. Bob was excited about the idea of one of the cool front loaders, but I just couldn't see buying one before we buy another house. I don't want to move that huge heavy washer! So we are buying a decent standard jobby and when we move into a house we can sell it to some college students and upgrade.

I started my new calling on Sunday. I served in the nursery for 2 years here and 2 years before that in my last ward so it was hard to say goodbye to my sweet babys. I have to admit that I was starting to get a little tired so it was time to move on. I never saw myself as a nursery leader. Honestly, I have been told in blessings my whole life that I would love to serve the little ones and just couldn't reconcile the idea with who I thought I was. Heavenly Father definately knows us better than we know ourselves. Anyhow, I am teaching Relief Society again. I have had this calling so many times that it is alot like puting on a comfortable pair of slippers. The ladies in my ward are wonderful and wonderfully unique so teaching on Sunday was a pleasure.

Bob has been asked to step in and take over as the acting superviser in the Local Assistance office. (He works at Caltrans as an engineer). He is in the middle of his rotation (an opportunity for the engineers to rotate to different departments for 2 years) and they promised him that he can finish the last 6 months of his rotation after they replace the supervisor. I think they are hoping he will pass his PE before they find someone new and then they can keep him. He is very good at his job and everyone wants him, he is just not sure he wants to take on the supervisor role just yet. He has really enjoyed his rotation. He got to spend 6 months as a structures engineer overseeing a bridge that is being built in Fort Bragg. He has been in a few other interesting places. He is currently working in the lab. He loves it! He gets to do science experiments all day! When he is back in Local Assistance he will be going to many meetings. He meets with local and state government officials (yep, even teleconferences with the governator) and will be dealing with alot of personell stuff. I know he will do a great job for them, I hope it is a positive experience for him! He is still extracting names for the church. His goal is to get up to 10,000. He is a real genealogy wiz, so he will soon have to make a new goal! I was telling Emma about how hard her daddy works to give us such a great life and she said " I am so glad you married daddy!" Yeah, me too. He is just so fun to be around!

My Beautiful Emma

Emma asked me to take the funny picture from my birthday dinner off of the website because "it's embarassing". I am so sorry Emma! I thought it was cute and it made me smile, but then, you don't see me posting photos of myself with a mouth full of food either. Sometimes parents need a reminding! I Love You Emster!

Beck's Big Birthday

Happy 35th Birthday to me! Man am I getting old!!! I thought the smoke alarms were going to go off when I blew this baby out! All in all I had a great day! I always make the birthday person's favorite dinner and whatever cake they want. However, when it is my birthday I get to buy any cake in town I want and go out to dinner. MMMMM....cake I didn't have to bake myself. I bought an undecorated cake and let Rachael and Emma decorate it for me. Bob bought me the rice cooker I had been asking for and Emma surprised me with a foot rub. We went to the cheesesteak shop for dinner and ordered way too much food that we have been munching on for the last 2 days.
