So tomorrow morning I am going door knocking with my stake to help support the marriage initiative in California. For those of you who don't know I live in Humboldt county. Humboldt is extremely liberal. We are talking a sister city to Berkeley and San Francisco. I have no idea what our community will think of a bunch of conservatives knocking on their doors to ask them how they feel about gay marriage. Not to mention the size of my town. Small. You just know everyone here. I guess this is a chance for me to not hide my light under a bushel and let my community know where I stand.
I am feeling really whimpy. I know I knocked on hundreds of doors during my mission, but it was in another country (definately not my own neighborhood). This is such an important issue!

That is very cool that you are going and I am very proud of you for taking such a hard step. You are doing the right thing. My mom did this a few years ago the last time the gay marriage issue came up in CA.
I understand entirely! I'm scared also and I don't know anyone. I love reading your blog also I just don't usually have time to comment. Keep it coming!

Wow! That would be really difficult! For some reason it really does sound easier to go to a foreign country and knock doors than your next door neighbor. Good job! I would have struggled with that one! Did you ever think you would have to do that someday???
Anyway, our mission reunion on Saturday was really fun but REALLY lacking HERMANA representation!! Watkins and I were the only sistas there! We saw Esplin, Neely, Hamilton, Belliston, West, McConkie, and a bunch of others who I didn't know or can't remember. Anyway, we missed ya. Oh-we also just saw Rumsey last night at our stake activity! Crazy!
